Famed composer and singer of the " Oh happy Day", Edwin Hawkins has died at the age of 74

As We celebrated another MAN, whose untimely death we honor. All over this country Black people and those who believe in the struggle of Justice hadn't quite settled in from the day's celebration when the most disheartening news sounds over the airwaves. " Edwin Hawkins dies at age 74 ". There are no words to explain, the sharp pain in my stomach. What a way to end an already, solemn day. I'm grateful, (as Lynette has sang) for having been able to have heard " Oh Happy Day ", even as a child, it had a profound effect upon my life.... I believe that those who will be in heaven, when they arrive, this song will be playing at the pearly gates " WELCOME, thy good and faithful servants."
